Introducing Fujiroll

As an aspiring photographer, I have grown to appreciate the delicate engineering of the Fujifilm X100 series. The small size allows for it to easily be carried around and the rich community of custom recipes simplifies the photography process into a point and shoot experience.

One significant challenge when using this device is deciding on the next recipe. The internet is a vast digital ocean, and often the most interesting recipes are hidden in unexpected places, such as the comment sections of a Reddit post.

Today, I’d like to introduce Fujiroll, a community-driven platform for discovering and sharing Fujifilm camera recipes.

The process pipeline is quite simple. When an image is taken with a camera featuring an X-Trans IV/V sensor, the photo’s recipe details are embedded within the EXIF data via the maker note. Fujiroll uses a specialized parser to extract and interpret this maker note, displaying the resulting recipe and making it available to share with the world.
